Police have named the woman who died after getting hit by a car in Ōamaru on Sunday evening.

She was Frances Paula Rangi, 75, of Ōamaru.

Emergency services responded to the crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian at 5.55pm on Sunday, July 7, between Fernbrook Rd and Redcastle Rd.

Police extend their sympathies to her family and friends during this difficult time.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
