Do You Love the Iconic Scottish Hall on Tyne Street?
Built in 1864, this grand old Ōamaru stone, building has been managed by the North Otago Scottish Society since 1925. The Society is looking with some concern at the future, and hoping the Waitaki community will provide the support needed to keep the doors open.
It's very well used by many varied groups, and is currently the home of the North Otago Highland Pipe Band.
Anyone with an interest in any aspect of Scottish Culture, historical Ōamaru, or just curious, is invited to drop in on our Open Day, Saturday 19th July between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to discuss ideas or plans, and to see what we're thinking.
