With the help of Harbour Street Collective Cafe, Weston Playcentre raised $1500 at Thursday's (December 7) art auction.

The café offered up art from the playcentre's tamariki as well as local artists to raise funds for outdoor water play set worth $3000.

"It was a great turn out and everybody got super into the event," organiser Kayla Miller said.

"Many pieces were sold to members of the community which was incredible."

A glass of bubbles and nibbles were included in the $10 ticket price and the event was well attended.

"When we originally spoke of the event we assumed they would be sold to family for sentimental value but people were truly invested in the art," Kayla said.

"The kids are thrilled with the results."

Plenty of time for a chat while perusing the art.

Obvious delight for everyone involved.
