There is also a Heavy Snow Watch in force for the Canterbury High Country south of the Rangitata River, including Southern Lakes, and Central Otago north of Alexandra

A front is expected to move northwards over the southern half of the South Island during Saturday, bringing snow inland. The front may stall for a time, producing heavy snow in some places. However, there is uncertainty about where this may occur.
