One person has died following a crash in Omarama.

A two-vehicle crash on Twizel-Omarama Road (State Highway 8), was reported to police at 10.19am today (Thursday, January 25). 

Two other people have been flown to Dunedin Hospital. One in a critical condition and the other with moderate injuries, police said in a statment.

The road remains closed while the Serious Crash Unit examine the scene.
