The first event of three in the Chocolate Fish Mountain Biking series was held in Ōamaru on Sunday (October 20).
One of the organisers, Adair Craik, says an enthusiastic group of children, teens and adults took part in the morning, held at the Reservoir Road mountain bike tracks.
The riders enjoyed perfect conditions, on tracks that have been maintained by Mountain Biking North Otago Club members.
Cash Louden took out first place in the young riders event, while former Ōamaru man Tim Rush was first in the men’s, and Sheryl Black first out of the women.
The series continues on November 3, and 17 at the same location. All bikers are welcome and registration is at 9.30am. Entry is $2 for Mountain Biking North Otago members and $5 for non-members.
