A calm sunny week ahead with some cold nights forecast.

Lovely settled weather is on the cards this week in the Waitaki thanks to a high pressure system overhead, but once the sun disappears it’ll get chilly so grab an extra layer if you’re heading out in the evening. 

On the coast and hinterland, there will be bluebird days and light winds all week with daytime highs of around 10 to 11 degrees, dropping down to between 0 and 4 degrees overnight.

Up in the Omarama area, conditions will also be sunny but cold all week with light winds. Day time temperatures will be lucky to hit fairly meagre highs of between 6 to 8 degrees, dropping down to some frosty overnight lows of -4 and -5 on Tuesday and Wednesday, and -6 on Thursday night.
