MetService has issued a raft of Road Snowfall Warnings for Southern passes during Monday night and into Tuesday morning, including the Dunedin to Waitati Highway (SH1) and the Lindis Pass.

Dunedin to Waitati Highway (SH1)

Valid: 13 hours from 8pm Monday (16 September) to 9am Tuesday (17 September).

Forecast: Snow expected overnight. 1 to 2 cm possibly accumulating about the summit of the road.

Lindis Pass (SH8)

Valid: 7 hours from 9pm Monday (16 September) to 4am Tuesday (17 September)

Forecast: 1 to 2 cm may accumulate above 500 metres with lesser amounts lower down.
