Shopping, food and wine, all under one roof, could possibly be the perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon.
Braids Barn Pop-up Christmas Market is happening in Kurow next Friday (December 2), for the third year, showcasing some of the Waitaki’s top creators and businesses.
The event begins at 12 noon at the barn, and runs until 7pm, with food platters provided by Kurow cafe Waitaki Braids, and refreshments by River-T Wines.
One of the organisers, Whistle & Pop founder Bex Hayman, said the day was so popular last year, there was a waiting list of businesses wanting to be a part of it this time.
Stall holders are: Nikki Ross Jewellery, Whistle & Pop, Design Federation, River-T Wines, Dana Johnston Imagery, Chloe Lodge Photographer, artist Lucy Tyrrell, Emma Nowell (EJV Design), The Clip, Jessica Flora, Lover Lover, McLean & Co, Stefan Benade Woodwork, and What’s for Smoko’s Pip Cameron.
The event was the perfect opportunity for people to get together with a bunch of friends and do some Christmas shopping, Bex said.
She was part of a three-woman team, which included fellow Waitaki Valley locals Dana Johnston and Aali Fraser, who had worked hard to bring the day together.
“We all roll our sleeves up and get involved so we can put on a brilliant event for the community.”
