It's Daffodil Day.
The well-known national Cancer Society fundraiser is held on the last Friday of August every year, to raise money to help fight the disease which will affect everyone in some way in their lifetime.
The money raised from Daffodil Day helps cancer patients and their whānau receive care and practical support, as well as helping to fund cancer research.
There are stands selling daffodils in Ōamaru and other North Otago towns for most of the day, and an online donation can be made if you don't have cash available or can't make it to a stand.
Statistics show that one in three of us will get cancer in our lifetime - a donation today could be helping you or a loved one tomorrow.
