Network Waitaki is turning 100, and wants all past and present employees to help celebrate.
The company is putting a call out to all past employees to get in touch, so they can help join in on a celebration planned for the weekend of August 18-20, Network Waitaki executive assistant Tamin Wilson said.
“One hundred years ago, on the 17th of August 1923, the Waitaki Electric Power Board was established. That day marked the start of a century of promoting, building, and servicing the electrical needs of our community.”
The company was keen to have as many people who are part of its history involved in the occasion as possible, she said.
The date for RSVPs has been extended, and those interested and wanting more information can still get in touch by emailing [email protected] or phoning 03 433 0065.
There is also an interactive exhibition Power People / 100 years of Network Waitaki at the Waitaki Museum showing a collection of history from the past 100 years, on display until September 2.
