We are looking for a RHM doctor to join our clinical team at Waitaki District Health Services (Oamaru) for six months.
The position would be suited to a vocationally-registered doctor with a Fellowship in Rural Hospital Medicine and experience in Emergency, and / or Internal Medicine, Rehabilitation, smaller/ rural hospitals and/or General Practice (PGY3 and above).
Oamaru Hospital is a rural hospital in North Otago. It has an Acute Care Area which includes Emergency Department and observation stabilisation beds; a 20-bed inpatient unit; diagnostics including laboratory, CT, Ultrasound and X-Ray; Primary Birthing Unit; Allied Health; and a range of Outpatient and Community Services.
Close working relationships are well established with both emergency services including helicopter retrievals to our base hospital in Dunedin.

Waitaki District Health Services Limited is a Rural Hospital three hours south of Christchurch in the South Island of New Zealand and 90 minutes north of Dunedin.
Located on the Pacific Ocean coast this town is renowned for its Victorian Heritage, Steam Punk and the “little blue penguins”.
Oamaru is close to a number of world-class ski fields, has numerous lakes for sailing, boating and fishing within 1-2 hours reach and is the final destination on the famous Alps 2 Ocean cycle trail – the cycle trail that takes riders from Aoraki Mount Cook to the Pacific Ocean.
