Want to work Monday to Friday hours? Waitaki District Health Services Limited (WDHSL) is seeking to employ a 0.8FTE (64 hours per fortnight) NZ-registered Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team based at Oamaru Hospital. 


THE TEAM

Our Allied Health Team consists of a group of professionals who are qualified health practitioners with specialised expertise in preventing, diagnosing, and treating a range of conditions and illnesses. The team works to provide services to inpatients, outpatients and in the community.


Working within this team, this role is offered with some flexibility - subject to caseload and the teams' work schedule.


THE ROLE

Our Physiotherapists help restore movement and function, working to help people regain their ability to have a quality life and maintaining movement following an injury, to help manage pain, and ongoing disease management. Whether this is to prevent hospital admissions, or to prevent ongoing deterioration our team provides support to people of all ages affected by injury, illness, or disability.  


ABOUT YOU

The person we are seeking will be a friendly and competent Physiotherapist, and will have:

  • current registration with the Physiotherapy Board and hold an Annual Practising Certificate
  • high levels of motivation and passion for the physiotherapy profession
  • sound clinical skills and experience in inpatient, community, and outpatient settings
  • the ability to engage and communicate with a wide range of people, specifically the elderly, and people with chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions
  • a client centred, holistic approach to practice, with a practical and solution focus
  • the ability to work autonomously, and also within a multidisciplinary team
  • an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (The Treaty of Waitangi) and implementing the principles  


All applicants undergo Police vetting and other legislative checks and must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa.
