Waitaki District Health Services Limited is seeking to employ a New Zealand-Registered Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team based at Oamaru Hospital. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent clinical and communication skills. The service provides both inpatient and community Occupational Therapy services to the Waitaki Region. This role is predominantly based on the inpatient ward but will also cover the community.


Hours of work are 0.8-1.0FTE (64 - 80 hours per fortnight), between Monday and Friday.


The person we are seeking will have:

  • Sound clinical experience in inpatient and community settings.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of motivation and passion for the Occupational Therapy profession.
  • A client-centred approach to practice.
  • The ability to work autonomously with a practical and solution focus.
  • A desire to work in a rural inter-disciplinary setting. 


A current Annual Practicing Certificate and full Driver Licence are essential.
