About the role

The primary focus of this position is to support the Planning Unit with meeting its statutory requirements and LTP priorities, particularly the processing of a range of applications, both land use and subdivision, providing planning advice to customers and checking other regulatory processes for compliance with the District Plan (e.g., PIMS, LIMS and alcohol licences). There is also scope to assist with the District Plan Review project in terms of summary of feedback/submissions, drafting supporting reports and plan provisions.


About you

The preferred candidate will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Planning, Resource Management, Surveying or related discipline
  • A working knowledge of the Resource Management Act
  • Customer service experience
  • Written communication skills, including report writing

Awareness of:

  • Resource consent processing
  • Submission summarising
  • Giving expert evidence at hearings
  • Local Government processes
