About the role

• This role is a joint position between council and our maintenance contractor - Downer (NZ) Ltd
• Be part of a team responsible for the delivery of Parks and Recreation services to the Waitaki community
• Undertake minor project work, data collection, asset management as required ensuring that a high quality, timely and planned service is delivered at all times
• Adhere to high levels of safety in order to protect the public and other team members
• Working towards completing a New Zealand Apprenticeship in Horticulture (Amenity - Level 3&4).

Desired attributes include:

• NCEA Level 3, related field, or equivalent combination of the qualifications and experience
• Demonstration of self-motivation
• Be interested in a career in horticulture and the outdoors
• Full NZ Driver's license or at least working towards it.
