Are you a numbers-person with good attention to detail and a ‘can do' attitude? Then come join our finance team based in Oamaru.


The Waitaki District Council is seeking a diligent Financial Services Officer to join its busy Finance Team which is a key hub supporting all of Council's various activities, and the individual we seek will be crucial to the continued successful delivery of Finance's important services.


You will be responsible for a variety of payment related processes, including inputting invoices for payment, reconciling invoices to statements, updating creditor information, and processing payments in order to ensure that all creditors are paid on time. This also involves liaising with creditors and working with others within the finance team and across the business.

 

About you:

  • Understanding of general financial concepts and processes
  • Confidence in using technology in the financial context and computer literate
  • Openness to learning of new financial processes, regulations, and industry trends
  • Collaboration and effective communication with colleagues to achieve common financial goals
  • Approachability when interacting with customers, team members and the wider organisation.
