Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

As a District Plan Support Officer at Waitaki District Council, you will play a key role in supporting the District Plan Review project. You will coordinate hearings and consultation events, manage key databases including the ePlan online tool, and oversee website updates related to the District Plan.


This role requires strong organisational skills, ensuring smooth logistical support for hearings, including managing agendas, minutes, and other documentation. You will be a vital point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to the success of the District Plan Review and supporting sustainable development across the Waitaki District.


He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Qualifications: A diploma-level qualification in Business, Resource Management, Planning, or equivalent, or NCEA Level 3. A full NZ Driver’s Licence is required.
  • Administrative Experience: At least 2 years of experience in an intermediate or senior-level administration role, with strong skills in database management and administration.
  • Knowledge of Local Government: Experience or knowledge of the Resource Management Act and local government processes is advantageous.
  • Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including logistics for hearings, consultation events, and the preparation of official documentation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with online tools such as ePlan and the ability to manage website updates effectively.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong relationship management skills to liaise with internal teams, elected members, and external stakeholders, ensuring a smooth consultation process.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

Salary for this position will commence between $85,644.64 and $100,758.41 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
