In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Waitaki District Council's data platform, ensuring it is robust, secure, and aligned with organisational goals. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams to provide accurate data that supports decision-making, operational excellence, and the Council's broader ambitions.

Your expertise will drive the integration and accessibility of data across the organisation, enhancing staff proficiency and enabling informed decisions.

He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bring

• Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A recognised and relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in data engineering, architecture, or similar roles within medium to large organisations.
• Technical Expertise and Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in large-scale data systems, databases, and distributed computing, with a sound understanding of data modelling and ETL processes. The ability to align technical solutions with strategic goals and translate complex requirements into actionable data solutions.
• Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams, with a commitment to providing secure and reliable data solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

Salary for this position will commence between $86,644 and $100,758 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
