The Waitaki District Council is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised person to join their Community Development team with the flexibility to work between 30 and 40 hours per week to cover parental leave. 


To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience collaborating with community groups and organisations
  • Proficiency in IT and administrative tasks
  • The capability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, fostering strong relationships
  • Basic understanding of the healthcare and social services sectors to better comprehend the context and challenges
  • Outstanding abilities in communication and interpersonal interactions, including active listening and empathy
  • A proactive attitude that inspires others and helps overcome challenges
  • While not mandatory, possessing a relevant tertiary qualification is advantageous, indicating commitment to the field and specialised knowledge
