Our Water Services Team is seeking a Business Administration Officer to provide administrative and other business support to assist the efficient and effective delivery of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure and services to the community.


The team

Our Water Services Team is a close-knit group of engineering professionals who pride themselves on close collaboration, high performance and continuous improvement. The team is progressive and exists within a supportive assets group.


The position

As Business Administration Officer for the Water Services Team, you will be based in our Oamaru office and responsible for a range of administrative activities:

  • Responding to customer enquiries as the team's first point of call
  • Organising team documents and correspondence
  • Developing and reviewing business processes for the team
  • Preparing contract documents
  • Organising meetings and minute-taking
  • Ordering and managing distribution of office supplies and equipment
  • Assisting with management of financial systems


About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • NCEA Level 3 or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' experience in an administration or business support role
  • Strong customer focus and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with data systems and proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other applications to create and manage documents
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
  • The ability to build positive relationships within a team, organisations and external stakeholders
