ABOUT US:
At Topflite we grow more than just quality natural animal feed…
Since 1974, we have cultivated seed in the limestone-rich soils of Oamaru to craft nutritious food for birds and small pets. Our roots as a family-run business remain as strong as ever, helping us to grow both our crops, our product range and, now, the Topflite team.
Topflite is a progressive, purposeful company that has advanced significantly in recent years. We take pride in our future-forward approach, helping Kiwis to connect with and nurture nature in their homes, backyards and communities
We carefully grow and harvest the highest quality raw material – which our team then shapes and develops into a wide range of products to suit the unique needs of our many different diners. In recent years we have branched out, creating new feed and flavours for New Zealand’s much-loved pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and ducks. In 2022 we introduced Topflite Hound.
Now we have established ourselves as a New Zealand leader in locally-grown pet feed. In 2020 we were a finalist in the Excellence in Primary Industry category for the Otago Business Awards.
We currently employ 36 people across our two sites. In Weston, we process and pack bulk seed and hay. Our operations centre is at a newer site at the north end of Oamaru. The office team is based there, as are the warehouse and distribution and more technical product manufacturing processes.
WE OFFER:
A nourishing work environment. We want New Zealand pets and wild birds to soar to their potential – and it’s the same for our team members. Our people benefit from a positive workplace that focuses on helping good people enjoy a happy and fulfilling career.
A balanced approach to work and life. It can be an elusive balance elsewhere. But in North Otago a rewarding work-life balance can be easy. It’s a stunning place to live and there’s nothing better than seeing our people get out there and into it. Whether it’s skiing at Ohau, surfing at Kakanui, cycling the Alps 2 Ocean or trawling the farmers’ market and sipping a craftie at Scott’s Brewery, there’s plenty to do outside your work here.
Career progression. There are personal and professional development opportunities available, as well as competitive remuneration. If you’ve got something in mind let’s have a chat about it!
