Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, Network Waitaki is an electricity distribution and energy services business that powers our local economy.

This exciting new role forms part of our Network Management team and is responsible for the management and delivery of our strategic network projects. Future projects include the delivery of a new GXP that underpins the future decarbonisation aspirations of our Network Waitaki customers and the region.
As our Network Strategic Projects Manager, you will:
- Act as the Network Waitaki project manager for the delivery of the new GXP, meeting critical timelines, cost, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
- Be actively involved in and support the initiation and development and delivery of Network strategies and initiatives.
- Undertake Engineering studies, reports and analysis as required to support the Network Development team and as required the wider network team.
- Support and contribute to the production of the Asset Management Plan and other related regulatory and business outputs as required.
- Support in developing Network Information systems to integrate in business systems, with a focus on enabling work planning and operations.
- Provide support, mentoring and assistance to staff to enable their development plans.

Preferred attributes:
- Significant experience in the electricity distribution industry with a wide understanding and experience of network planning, asset management and project delivery.
- Understands the principles of zero harm and sustaining a high-performance culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Keen problem solving, interpretation and reasoning with an ability to identify problems and develop and evaluate solutions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships.
- Tenacity in taking complex problems to successful outcomes despite potential barriers.
- Tertiary qualified in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
