Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, our core business is bringing electricity from the national grid to over 13,000 connected customers in North Otago and parts of South Canterbury. Network Waitaki provide innovative energy solutions to our customers, as well as providing electrical construction and maintenance services across New Zealand. 


Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Management Accountant will have a lead role in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job/project management system. The role will support strong works management processes across the business, delivering optimal financial outcomes through robust estimates and timely insight into financial spend against plan. This will include the development of analytics and dashboard reporting using MS Business Central and PowerBI. 


Area of responsibility: 

  • Delivery of monthly project reporting and management of business analytics and dashboard reporting to support successful delivery of projects. 
  • Assist with development of budgets and reforecasts.

Preferred attributes: 

  • 3-5 years of relevant commercial and technical experience in management or similar accounting roles 
  • Strong IT skills essential including advanced Excel and experience with development of finance system reporting. Previous experience with analytic applications such as Power BI an advantage. 
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skillset 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including report writing 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships 
  • Strong ability to foresee challenges, read situations and respond efficiently and effectively 
  • Tenacity in taking problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriers 
  • Able to show initiative and demonstrate a high level of professionalism
