12-month fixed term opportunity.

Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, our core business is bringing electricity from the national grid to over 13,000 connected customers in North Otago and parts of South Canterbury. Network Waitaki provide innovative energy solutions to our customers, as well as providing electrical construction and maintenance services in across New Zealand.

This role assists our busy IDT Team, supporting the effective day-to-day delivery of IT services to our business. The ITS Administrator will be the first point of contact for Network Waitaki staff, providing resolution of minor IT issues, whilst keeping track of works escalated to other IDT team members and our IT suppliers. We’re looking for someone with excellent customer service and administration skills. This entry level role would suit those looking to begin their career in the IT field.

Our current ITS Administrator is taking extended leave and there is a 12-month fixed term opportunity for 30 to 40 hours per week generally worked between 8am and 5pm weekdays, but we can accommodate an early finish if needed.

Preferred attributes:

  • NCEA level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Competency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel) required
  • Previous customer service experience in a business or corporate environment
  • Clear and confident verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to follow through to completion (a ‘Finisher’)
  • Customer orientation and an ability to listen, understand and respond to customers in a calm and professional manner
  • An affinity for information technology coupled with a desire to develop IT related skills
  • Tertiary training in information technology or business administration an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
