In this exciting role, you will be able to contribute to New Zealand’s low carbon future. We see significant opportunities to develop our electricity network as customers convert from Carbon-based fuels to electricity.
As GIS and Network Information Specialist, you will:
- Support the maintenance and development of our ESRI GIS (Desktop, Online and Enterprise) including the implementation of the Utility Model.
- Develop and support mapping applications (Experience Builder) to make workflows more efficient.
- Develop mechanisms for capturing asset data in the field using software platforms and support the business to use the systems effectively.
- Be the data steward and champion for network asset information, including asset attributes, geospatial information, condition, and performance data.
- Integrate and coordinate sources of network information across the business, including our ESRI GIS, SQL databases, work management system, and network modelling tools using integration tools such as FME.
- Support the development of our Network Information Management processes and GIS team to improve the capability within the business.
- Build your network of peers in New Zealand to collaborate and share knowledge.

Preferred attributes:
- Understands the principles of zero harm and sustaining a high-performance culture
- Experience in using and maintaining ESRI Products – Arcmap and ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS online, ArcGIS Enterprise and ESRI Field mobility solutions, etc
- Experience in developing mapping applications and tools to make workflows more efficient
- Working experience with FME/FME server is preferable
- Experience in working with GIS within the utility industry (preferred but not necessary)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Awareness of asset management techniques and principles
- Solid conceptual and reasoning skills and the ability to think strategically
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships
- Tenacity in taking complex problems to successful outcomes despite potential barriers
