Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, Network Waitaki is an electricity distribution and energy services business that powers our local economy.


Network Waitaki Contracting provide electrical construction and maintenance services across New Zealand. We currently have a team of approximately 60 people across management and field staff within our contracting team. 


Our industry is experiencing rapid changes in technology and customer expectations, and we need great people to join our team to deliver on our strategy and be part of this exciting future. 


This role reports to the Operations Planning Manager and is responsible for cost estimation, project pricing, tender and contract co-ordination with internal and external customers. 


The successful applicant must have: 

  • Previous experience in a project management or cost estimating role in the electricity distribution sector.
  • Previous experience with tendering, contract development (incl. NZS3910) and managing commercial risk on projects.
  • Good knowledge of construction and maintenance of overhead distribution systems up to and including 110kV.
  • Good knowledge of construction and maintenance of underground distribution systems up to an including 33kV.
  • A working knowledge of substation equipment preferred but not essential. 
  • A practical understanding of construction and engineering techniques. 
  • Experience with common business applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel), as well as cost estimating tools or models.
