In this varied permanent role at our Oamaru site, we seek someone who has industrial engineering
experience who can work on our afternoon shift to assist with resolving breakdowns and planned
maintenance across the site as well as the installation of new equipment. This requires strong
technical ability, ideally with a Trade Certificate (level 4) or Advanced Trade Certificate in mechanical
or fitter fields.
A definite advantage for securing this role would be an electrical service Technician qualification or,
be Trade Qualified with experience with working in an industrial environment.
The successful applicant will possess experience in and a passion for:
Workplace safety
Working with other departments to maximise equipment efficiency, minimising down time.
Able to diagnose machine faults.
Ability to work to deadlines and understand priorities.
Clear communicator
Ability to work independently and manage time.
The ability to work through problems, provide solutions using creative thinking.
Machining skills and welding using MMA, MIG and TIG would be an advantage.
Our plant operates 24/5 Monday – Friday with hours of work for this role being negotiable but best
suited around 4.00pm – 1.00am. Other than a negotiated remuneration package, this vacancy also
gives the opportunity for the successful applicant to work in excellent conditions with a great crew in
Oamaru. Our location gives us easy access to ski fields, central Otago lakes and major shopping and
transport links in Dunedin and Timaru.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a full medical check including drug and alcohol
testing. All applicants should have NZ residency or a current work visa and currently be in NZ.
