Health Improvement Practitioners ('HIPs') are qualified and registered health professionals, with experience in the mental health sector, and their role is to be available to support patients who need help on the day.
Services Provided: Mental Health and Wellbeing support for managing general life challenges and stresses, including mild to moderate mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and behavioural concerns.
Consults may be individual, couples or whanau; with groups arranged where appropriate.
The service is currently available across three, local medical centres:

Referral Process: Patients are generally referred by GP or Practice Nurse, or may self-refer - call the practice to book.
Availability is always held for same day bookings.
This service is free of charge but patients must be enrolled at one of the 3 medical practices above.
Sessions generally run for approximately 30 minutes.
