At the southern end of Ōamaru, spot New Zealand Fur Seals/Kekeno and Yellow-Eyed Penguins/Hoiho from the platform at the end of this cliff-top walk. This is a stunning cliff-top walk has access to the shingle beach before 3pm daily.

Spot New Zealand fur seals and the rarest penguin in the world, the yellow-eyed penguin, from this short cliff-top walk.
There is a purpose-built viewing hide in which visitors can watch the yellow eyed penguins come ashore and cross the beach. The track begins at the end of Bushy Beach Rd which is at the Southern end of Ōamaru.
The beach is closed after 3pm to avoid disrupting the penguins coming ashore.
