Palmerston’s Got the X-Factor! Yes! And we will be paying some decent cash prizes for it at the next Palmerston Show on Saturday 3 February 2024. And that doesn’t just include Palmerston of course – that’s you Waikouaiti, Shag Point, Hampden, Flagswamp, Macraes-Moonlight, Dunback, in fact all the way from Oamaru to Dunedin! Its just that to list all of them would make the heading too long to fit in a poster AND the final judging will take place on stage at our Palmerston Country A&P Show in February.

We are looking for musical acts, vocal or instrumental or dance type acts. So if you are a dancer, a singer, play an instrument, have a band in your garage somewhere that you feel is ready to emerge onto the world – then the Palmerston A&P Show is as good a place as any!

Palmerston’s Got the X-Factor is being put together by the man behind Bedford Entertainment – Mr Jae Bedford himself. With years of experience onstage plus equal number running his music-based business including teaching, Jae is the man for the job.

The sponsor for the cash prizes will be announced shortly but the winner will get a cool $300 cash prize, runner up is $200 and 3rd is $100.

Here's what to do. Pick up or download your entry form which includes all the details you will need. Record or get someone to record you singing or dancing or whatever it is you are talented at, then send that along with your filled out application form (available on our fb page or at various shops around the area) and send off to Jae at [email protected]. You can also post to 23A Awamoa Rd, Oamaru.

You will then be given a time to come along to the show on Saturday 3 February where you will put on your best performance and the judges will make the decision on the day. There is a registration fee of $10 which will cover you and one other support person to come on the day.

We’d love to see you join in with this little bit of fun for our community – and who knows! It may be the launch of something big – all from Palmerston’s Got X-Factor in February 2024!
