Lifekeepers is New Zealand’s national suicide prevention training for communities. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and provided at no cost to community members. The LifeKeepers training aims to equip communities and whānau with the knowledge and skills needed to help prevent suicide.
The training covers the following topics:
This training programme is suitable for community members - essentially, anyone who might come into contact as part of their work or daily life with someone who might be at risk of suicide. This includes people in workplaces, NGOs that serve their community, people in service organisations, churches and faith-based organisations, sports clubs, etc. (Note – we are providing separate trainings for health professionals, and for schools).
