Damien McNamara presents a public talk about the Aurora Australis, the recent geomagnetic activity, and what to expect from Solar Cycle 25
I am a learning Māori astronomer, with roots in scientific astronomy. I have a passion for space, weather and aurora hunting, as well as share my passion through outreach education.
The talk itself will be around the recent increase in space, weather and aurora activity, I’ll be touching base on some settings general public can use to help them capture aurora images and go over what we are hoping to see as we head toward solar max in July 2025.
Although the talk is titled Aurora Australis, I will also touch on Matariki, and local happenings.
